13th March 2009 We made some minor changes to the PDF document format. Additionally we implemented a HTML view for the Outbreak Articles as an alternative to the PDF view in case Adobe Reader 8.0 or higher is not installed on your system. You can use this new view within your browser through clicking the new HTML symbol directly below the PDF symbol in the list of search results.
5th March 2009 We made a major update to the site which turns the alpha release into the beta release. There are many major and minor changes; the most important are:
  • The advanced search is now available.
  • The advanced search includes a group-by function which yields statistics about the Outbreak Articles.
  • Users can now register (for free). This is required to use the advanced search (including group-by) and also enables customization of your search experience.
  • Both unregistered and registered users can now not only search in fields but also in categories.
  • Additional Outbreak Articles are available.
  • By default, search results are now sorted by year (tag RY). Registered users can configure the sort criterion in the account settings.
  • We have a new logo.
27th February 2009 The official URL www.outbreak-database.com now redirects to the current public release.
